The Lahore Science Mela (LSM) is an annual citizen science festival organised by the Khwarizmi Science Society. The two day festival welcomed over 100,000 visitors and featured thousands of science exhibitions hosted by schools and private bodies, along with hundreds of KSS’s own demonstrations.
Students of Humaira Riaz School were proud to showcase their experiments for the first time at the science mela in October 2023.
The children not only participated in the event, but also developed sustainable energy mechanisms to display the mela. These mechanisms included eco-friendly windmills, nature powered carousels, and other systems that promote the most good while causing the least harm. Through this participation, students were able to further enhance their understanding of science, mathematics, engineering, and art!
